Alternative Breaks@UCSD
AB@UCSD stresses the importance of the social justice issues that our San Diego community, our nation, and our world face daily. Alternative Breaks@UCSD is part of a movement spanning across many colleges and universities in the United States. With more than 140 participating schools, 1467 trips, and 622,764 service hours, alternative breakers from across the country are challenging social justice issues in an effort to instill positive change in our communities. We believe that it is never enough just to know and reflect on the social injustices are happening in the world. We understand that to make an active effort in tackling the social issue at hand, we have to apply strong direct service. How we would do that, you might ask. Well, we go on different service-learning trips!
